If you can go see this exhibit – DO!

Inspiring, thought-provoking and simply gorgeous. Viewing Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is exactly where I wanted to be during my birthday this year. It was perfect!

I was moved to notice similar formal issues being dealt with here as in my own work as a painter. Balance, weight, color, texture – all used in a way to capture that which cannot be communicated through words. Our deepest, most raw emotions – pain, love, anger, joy. It’s all there. McQueen is the real deal.
