{"id":266,"date":"2013-05-12T19:11:28","date_gmt":"2013-05-12T23:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.taleenbatalian.com\/?p=266"},"modified":"2013-05-13T20:23:53","modified_gmt":"2013-05-14T00:23:53","slug":"all-at-the-same-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.taleenbatalian.com\/?p=266","title":{"rendered":"All at the same time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve not seen the show <em>Shinique Smith:Firsthand &#8212;\u00a0<\/em>at LACMA through mid-July &#8212; and probably won&#8217;t make it to LA before it closes, but this work stopped me in my tracks. It feels like the convergence of old and new, random and designed, structured and soft &#8212; all at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>This sculpture reminds me of so many things I love (texture, clothing, form, painting, organization, pattern) which, on the surface, don&#8217;t really seem related.
